MDE Parent Welcome Packet    

The Memorial Drive Elementary PTA would like to welcome you to MDE! We have provided some information about what the PTA does and why you should join.

What is the PTA? The Parent Teacher Association is an organization committed to supporting the students, teachers, and administration at MDE.

Who can join? Everyone! The PTA includes parents, faculty, staff and even members of the community.

Why join the PTA? As a member of the PTA, you will receive weekly emails from the president detailing everything that is going on at our school. We have several events throughout the year that allow us to connect with other parents and strengthen our community. Through the PTA fundraising efforts, we can fund specialist positions such as our current full-time reading and full-time math specialists, essential curriculum support on a grade specific level, additional programs like Cultural Arts Week, Book Fair and more!

Volunteer: Volunteering through the PTA is a great way to connect with other parents, teachers, and students. The success of the PTA efforts each year depends solely on volunteers. We have many volunteering opportunities, so everyone can find something to fit their schedule.

Volunteering Opportunities:

School Supplies: Please CLICK HERE for a list of school supplies needed for each grade level. 

PTA Welcome Coffee: On the first day of school immediately after drop-off stop by the cafeteria for a PTA welcome coffee. Volunteer sign-ups will be available, and the spirit store will be open.

PTA Back-to-School Mixer: The PTA will host a Back-to-School Mixer for the parents at the beginning of the year. Be on the lookout for the date, time, and location.

What to do next: On or after July 1, 2024, go to the PTA website, create an account, and join the PTA. As a member, you will receive a copy of the directory and the weekly PTA Newsletters that will keep you informed about important dates and upcoming events.
